Planting the Seeds
Planting the Seeds
Spring is in the air, and with it blooms all of the ideas and projects that we’ve been cultivating over the dark of winter.
Art in the Garden: Last fall, we were gifted art sculptures from local resident and philanthropist Jeanie Linders. These art pieces range from rustic to modern, small to large, and are being installed throughout the garden by volunteers Stan Juczak and Ron Rich. They’ll be included on our new map, coming out soon.
Audio Tours: We’re adding an audio tour that will be available by scanning a code on a smart phone. This tour will give a little more information about the plants, design, or care of that specific garden.
Bee City USA-Hendersonville: Last month, Bullington partnered with the city to become the new Bee City affiliate for Hendersonville. The mission of Bee City ties in perfectly with Bullington’s. In short, Bee City hopes to galvanize communities to sustain pollinators by increasing the abundance of native plants, providing nesting sites, and reducing the use of pollinators. Patrice German, who manages our Bullington bees, will head up this very important program. Kim Bailey, who is stepping down, will continue to work with programs.
Education Director Search: John Murphy has announced his retirement plans. While we are sad to see him go, he promises to remain a part of Bullington in various ways. There will be a celebration in late July to honor and celebrate the 23 years he’s given to Bullington.
