Terrarium Workshop, Jan. 12, 1:00-2:30
Join us in the warm greenhouse on a winter day to create your own beautiful garden in a glass bowl. All materials will be provided. $45.

Bird-Friendly Gardening, March 1, 2:00-3:30
Tom Tribble, president of the Audubon Society in Asheville will discuss plants and practices to encourage birds to frequent your garden throughout the seasons. $5

Growing Blueberries, March 8, 3:00-4:30
Extension Agent Craig Mauney will cover best varieties and cultural practices to successfully grow blueberries in the home garden. $12

Vegetable Gardening Basics, March 15, 16, 17, 4:00-5:30
Learn the gardening basics of improving soil, composting, what and when to plant, pest control measures and other techniques to get your vegetable garden off to a good start. Led by Bullington’s John Murphy. $35

Growing & Propagating Dahlias, April 12, 2:00-3:30
Brian Killingsworth, Bullington’s Dahlia Guru will discuss and demonstrate all you need to know to grow these spectacular plants in your garden. If you have clumps of dahlias from last season, bring them and learn how to separate into individual tubers. $10

Using Perennials in the Landscape, April 26, 2:00-3:30
Crissy Dzielak of Landmark Landscapes will highlight great perennials for Western NC, especially low maintenance beauties, and how these plants can be used in the landscape. $12

Spring Plant Sale, April 29 & 30, 9:00-5:00
Our annual spring sale will have a great selection of perennials, vegetable starts, herbs, small trees and shrubs and some unusual annuals.

Beyond the Tomato: Fun New Edibles to Try in Your Garden, May 5, 3:00-4:30
Bullington Gardener Amanda Lavallee will discuss growing ginger root, turmeric, crosnes, Jerusalem artichokes and other novelty crops to compliment your vegetable garden. $10

Vibrant Viburnums, May 10, 3:00-4:30
Explore the diversity and versatility of viburnums in the home landscape with Extension Agent Craig Mauney. $12

Wildflower ID, May 21, 1:00-4:00
Learn how to identify native spring wildflowers of the WNC Mountains using the key in Newcombe’s Wildflower Guide. Led by Bonnie Arbuckle and Juanita Lambert of the Western Carolina Botanical Club. $10

Hypertufa Container Workshop, June 1, 3:00-4:30
Bullington’s Mary Martin will guide you in making your own natural looking hypertufa planter. All materials will be provided. $40
