Bee Bold Pollinator Festival

Bullington Gardens is excited to be a part of this exciting Pollinator Festival!

Join Bold Rock Hard Cider as we celebrate National Honey Bee Day with our inaugural Bee Bold Festival. Bold Rock Hard Cider, along with Hendersonville Bee City USA, aim to raise awareness of the role of honey bees and other pollinators. Honey bees are the world’s most important pollinator of food crops, making them a crucial member of our community. No bees, no Bold Rock!

Festivities include live music by Jake Burns Music from 2-5pm, vendors, honey tastings, educational workshops, observation bee hives, plant sale, and other fun activities!

Our schedule of honey tastings, activities, and presentations are as follows:

*Bee Bingo time’s are approximate and will begin once the tasting or presentation concludes*

We will also be bringing back the Ginger Bee Cocktail and the Watermelon Mojito Cocktail! The Ginger Bee features a delightful blend of lemon juice, local honey from the Henderson County Beekeepers Association, and Bold Rock Hard Cider’s Ginger Cider. The Watermelon Mojito features an invigorating blend of watermelon juice, lime juice, fresh mint, and Vat #1 Cider. $1 from each cocktail sold will be donated directly to the Bring the Hive Alive initiative. Starting at 1pm, each guest will receive one complimentary limited edition ‘Bee Bold’ pint glass with the purchase of a cocktail (non-alcoholic available, too). *PINT GLASSES ARE LIMITED, ONE PER CUSTOMER PLEASE*

Planting for Pollinators: Bees & Butterflies-Zoom Class

Pollinator experts Kim Bailey of Milkweed Meadows Farms, and Jill and Brannen of Spriggly’s Beescaping will present information on creating habitats to attract pollinators to your landscape. Kim will focus on butterfly gardens that provide habitat for all stages of the life cycle with tips for planting milkweed to attract monarchs as well as growing native plants to support a myriad of butterflies and other pollinators, too! Jill & Brannen will focus on native bees of North America (with European honey bees taking a backseat). Learn about the lives of these incredible pollinators through an exploration of common species and the habitat each requires for nesting and survival.
