Dear Supporters of Bullington Gardens,
Starting a new position is always intimidating, but the initiation into my career at Bullington couldn’t have gone better. I’d always known that Bullington was a ‘Garden with Heart’, but I experienced it first hand as I met so many who had decades of history with the garden. I was welcomed not only by John and his staff, but by donors, volunteers, and board members. I’d like to thank you for that warm welcome and gentle hospitality. While not expected, it was very much appreciated.
As most of you know, our fairy gardens were an unexpected success, with over 6,500 people in three months enjoying the magical trails that the fairies inhabit. What a needed escape in this unprecedented year. While this attention was unpredicted, we realize that growth isn’t found in comfort, and the crowds definitely pushed us out of our comfort zone. Our volunteers stepped up to help control access to the trails, ensure public safety, and maintain the gardens.
As we get closer to holidays, we’re looking at our holiday sales. Bullington is fortunate to have many elves to get gifts ready. Hopefully, we’ll help you fill your gift list, as well as order the tree to put your gifts under. Our website is up with the new holiday items for your online shopping.
As Bullington grows, so will the need for more staff. We’d like to invite you to be a part of that growth, in any way that you’re comfortable. Consider becoming a Friend of Bullington, an end of year contribution, or plan to have a percentage of your estate benefit Bullington.
Finally, I want to thank those who made funding of my position possible and the generous support over the years.
Warm Regards,
Annie Higgins
